The Bigfoot hunters starring on Animal Planet's hit reality series "Finding Bigfoot" recently went on a quest to find the mysterious beast in Missouri.

On the popular program, four researchers travel to different locations across the United States and interview people who claim to have seen Bigfoot. Then the researchers set up reenactments of the sighting to try to prove the existence of the ape-like creature. The team consists of Bigfoot Field Research Organization (BFRO) President Matt Moneymaker, researchers James "Bobo" Fay and Cliff Barackman, and scientist Ranae Holland, who is a skeptic.

Before the producers of "Finding Bigfoot" went off to explore the woods in Branson, Missouri, they held a town hall meeting at the White House Theatre on March 6 where fans and believers shared personal sighting stories of Sasquatch, reports the Branson Tri-Lake News.

"The theme of this episode is the history of Sasquatches in Missouri, in a way, because as the European culture that settled here, and took the land from Native Americans, started moving to the West, this was the frontier," Barackman said. "As pioneers moved out here and cut down trees and started living here, they ran across the creatures that lived here, whether there were bears, or in this case, Sasquatches."

He explained that the purpose of the meeting is to hear testimony and garner information on Sasquatch sightings before the teams goes out to explore the areas where the sightings took place.

"What we do is we extend out various invitations to witnesses and we actually put the word out in radio and in newspaper to invite the public out," Barackman said.

"We knew witnesses were going to come because we invited them. However, there's always that wild card that we love because some people say, 'Ya know what, I watch that show because I've seen a bigfoot, I want to share my story with them and nobody has ever heard it before.' Sure enough, we got a couple of those tonight."

During the meeting in Branson, several witnesses told stories about finding bigfoot tracks along with sighting Sasquatches on camping and hunting trips, and on vacation in Missouri.

"Finding Bigfoot" is now in its seventh season.
