Lucero Releases Live Album 'Lucero en Concierto'
The Mexican singer Lucero has had a 33-year run of success in the music business, and she's just released a special CD and DVD combination of the best tunes spanning those decades. The album was officially released on Nov. 19 according to her official Web site.
"Lucero en Concierto" will contain songs she says her fans suggested via Twitter for the live album recorded in concert in Mexico City.
"Coming up with the song list was not easy," Lucero told the Latin Times. "It's an album where we have a live audience and their warmth. Also included are two brand new songs that I wrote and recorded in a studio. I am very satisfied with the result and I feel that the fans that have followed me are going to enjoy it just as much as the younger fans that just start to discover my songs they had not heard before."
The album is especially satisfying for the Latina songstress as it pulls together pieces of her career from very different eras.
"There are the songs I sang when I was a girl, the soap-opera theme songs, (traditional Mexican music), a selection of what I like the most and wanted to share with everyone," Lucero said at a press conference.
The album also contains a new single called "No Pudiste Amar Así."
"I am very passionate about writing and singing songs that become love stories or heartbreaks for whoever wants to make them their own, Lucero said. "I am happy to be able to express through music what my fans want to hear. 'No Pudiste Amar Asi,' is for whoever wants to make it theirs."
Most recently, "La Novia de America" was seen once again hosting the Latin Grammy awards, this time with co-hosts, Omar Chaparro and Blanca Soto in Las Vegas.
