‘Glee’ Cast Remembers Cory Monteith in Series Finale
FOX's hit series "Glee" will pay tribute to its late cast member, Cory Monteith, during the shows series finale.
Entertainment Weekly claims that the finale will incorporate various flashback scenes that feature Monteith. The finale will also show how the New Directions choir initially came together.
Monteith was one of "Glee's" original cast members. He played the show's popular athlete character, Finn Hudson who dated the show's female lead character, Rachel Berry, played by Lea Michele.
Monteith and Michele also dated in real life. But their romance ended abruptly when Monteith was found dead in July 2013 from an accidental overdose, Entertainment Weekly reports.
The cast of "Glee" opened up about filming the emotional series finale and working with Monteith during PaleyFest, Variety reports.
"I cried the whole week. I was a mess," Lea Michele told the PaleyFest crowd.
She added, "That was the day I fell to my knees and cried. I literally had to call my mother to come. It was the most special day. I got to say everything to everyone here and everyone who will watch it that I wanted to say, but you can't think of the words, and he wrote them."
Michele also revealed that she would be performing an original song titled "This Time" during the series finale.
When asked who their favorite special guest was, Amber Riley named Kristin Chenoweth as her favorite while Jane Lynch named Carol Burnett playing her mother on the show as her personal highlight.
In addition to naming favorite guests, Chris Colfer, whose character Kurt came out to his father on the show, revealed that his storyline is something he is proud of.
"We heard from so many fathers and sons who were going though something similar and it doesn't get better than that. When you can get paid to do so meaningful to so many people," said Colfer.
The series finale of "Glee" airs March 20 on FOX at 8 p.m. EST.
