Justin Bieber's highly anticipated Comedy Central Roast taped on Saturday, March 14 and included many harsh jokes about the singer's love life, legal troubles, and public controversies.

But despite the crude jokes, Bieber opted to end the night on a high note.

Bieber publicly apologized for his controversial behavior in the past and ensured his fans and viewers that he would become someone that they will be "proud of," Variety reports.

"There was really no preparing me for this life," he explained onstage. "I was thrown into this at 12 years old, and I didn't really know what I was getting myself into. There's been moments I'm really proud of and a lot of moments I look back and I'm pretty disappointed with myself for."

He added, "But the things that I've done really don't define who I am. I'm a kind-hearted person who loves people and, through it all, lost some of my best qualities. For that, I'm sorry. But what I can say is that I'm looking forward to being someone you can look at and be proud of."

Bieber's Comedy Central roast airs on March 30 featuring roastmaster Kevin Hart, along with roasters Hannibal Buress, Chris D'Elia, Snoop Dogg, Shaquille O'Neal, Pete Davidson, Natasha Leggero, Ludacris, Jeff Ross and Martha Stewart, says Variety.

Jeff Ross was among the celebrities who roasted Bieber about his former relationship and questioned his manhood, Us Weekly reports.

"Selena Gomez wanted to be here, but she's dating men now," Ross joked. "Is it true you dumped her because she grew a moustache before you?"

He added, "Selena Gomez had sex with [you] ... proving Mexicans will do the disgusting jobs Americans just won't do."

E! News dished on some additional jokes made about Bieber's relationship with Gomez that included lines such as, "You're about to get f--ked harder that Orlando Bloom fucked Selena Gomez" and "Selena Gomez had to f--k you. She is literally the least lucky Selena in show business."

And while Bieber's former romance with Gomez was the butt of many jokes, Gomez allegedly wasn't amused.

HollywoodLife.com claims that Gomez was "freaking out" about Bieber's Comedy Central Roast because she knew that their former relationship would be a hot topic.

The source adds that thankfully for Gomez, her rumored boyfriend Zedd was there by her side to keep her calm.
