'Nuestra Belleza Latina' Recap: Mane de la Parra, Marco Antonio Solis and More Stars Drops By; Lisandra & Cynthia Eliminated [Pics]
"Nuestra Belleza Latina" head judge Osmel Sousa sounded the alarm last week, and his announcement that two participants of Univisión's beauty pageant would be eliminated came true on Sunday, the Spanish-language television channel revealed.
"Next week, TWO (participants) will be eliminated," the pageant director had warned. "One (picked) by the viewers, and the other eliminated by ME."
In the end, Lisandra Silva, the second runner-up of 2010's Miss Atlántico Internacional, and Cynthia Pérez, who had auditioned for the reality show as early as 2007, were both sent home in an emotional episode, Univisión noted.
The night's result likely was especially tough on Pérez, who had gained viewers' approval but ended up being eliminated by the judges; they preferred for Nathalia Casco, the Miss Honduras 2005 runner-up and 2007 Reina Internacional del Pacífico, to stay in the race.
But beyond the double elimination, Sunday's episode was dedicated to dancing. To join the competitors on the dance floor, the "Nuestra Belleza Latina" producers invited some handsome men from various corners of Latin America -- and Europe.
The list included Mexican singer and actor Mane de la Parra, Venezuelan actor and model Yul Burkle, Mexican actor Mauricio Mejía, Univisión presenter Borja Voces, Venezuelan dancer and singer Melvin Cabrera, Mexican singer Fernando Corona, Spanish actor Salvador Corpa and Dominican journalist, actor and television personality Tony Dandrades.
Later on, Mexican musician and composer Marco Antonio Solís accompanied the beauty queens as they took to the catwalk in their haute-couture outfits, Univisión noted. Then, American singer Roberto Tapia helped get the seventh gala going, and Venezuelan pop duo Chino y Nacho provided the soundtrack for the bathing-suit competition.
In the end, the remaining participants -- Casco, Catherine Castro, Francisca Lachapel, Clarissa Molina, Geisha Montes De Oca and Mariana Torres -- had all reason to celebrate: In the next episode of "Nuestra Belleza Latina," which is set to air on March 22, none of them will face elimination.
"The six beauties who are still in the competition can sleep peacefully for a week," Univisión said.
