In last week's episode of "Fresh Off the Boat," 11-year-old hip-hop fan Eddie Huang welcomed a new Chinese/Jewish kid at his school named Phillip Goldstein. Although most people thought the two would be fast friends considering their shared Asian heritage, the two boys discovered that they had nothing in common.

Eddie's mother, Jessica, desperately wanted him to be friends with Phillip, who she thought was a "good Chinese boy."

His mother's obsession with the boys' friendship gave Eddie an idea. He wanted to attend a Beastie Boys concert, but she said no. He told her that Phillip was going (a lie), and as he predicted, she allowed him to go. Phillip agreed to accompany Eddie to the Beastie Boys concert if Eddie would go with him to see "Les Miserables." The boys struck a deal.

But Phillip ditched Eddie the day of the Beastie Boys concert. Jessica confronted Phillip at his home and said how disappointed she was by his selfish actions. Not wanting to see her son let down, she accompanied him to the concert.

The next day at school, Eddie proudly wore his Beastie Boys concert T-shirt, as did the only black kid at school named Walter. The two bonded over their shared admiration of the band and the fact both went to the concert. While they did not get off to a great start in the pilot episode, it now seems Walter and Eddie have a budding friendship.

In the next episode, which is titled "License to Sell," Jessica postpones studying for, and taking, her real estate license exam because she fears that she can't compete with Orlando's top realtor. Eddie asks Louis for advice about winning the heart of Nicole (guest star Luna Blaise), but decides to put his own finishing touches on his dad's suggestions.

In the promotional photos of the "License to Sell" episode, it appears Eddie ends up in school detention where he attempts to put the moves on Nicole who is also detained.

Louis gets himself a gift. Hint: It helps maintain his permed hair.
