Eva Longoria is the cover star for Glam Belleza Latina's spring issue, and she gets very honest about Latinos sometimes being more separated than they should. Longoria also spoke to the magazine about her foundation and her upcoming acting and producing projects.

Longoria says she has always been focused on business. She said that before becoming an actress, she worked in corporate America which helped her get the platform and exposure to do her philanthropic work.

Longoria has focused her foundation on helping Latinas succeed through education opportunities and entrepreneurship. Education is especially important for Longoria and she believes that it is the fastest "route to economic mobility."

Longoria wants Latinas to succeed, that is why she has focused her foundation's efforts on helping them get opportunities.

With many different types of Latinos like "Mexican Americans, your Puerto Ricans, your Cuban Americans, your Central Americans", it is easy to be divided by a country. Instead, Longoria says that Latinos need to work together.

Latinos, according to Longoria, have not always been a culture that unites easily. She said that sometimes they focus on their "differences" rather than their "commonalities."

Longoria explained that she wants to help increase Latin visibility on TV. She is currently working on several projects that feature Latinos, including the show "Devious Maids."

Longoria is set to star in her first show since "Desperate Housewives" ended in 2012. She will star in the NBC series "Telenovela." Her new show has already been ordered for a full-season, according to the Huffington Post.

"It is not my role to program only for Latinos, and you can't really assume that Hispanics only want Hispanic content. They're watching 'Scandal' and they're watching 'Cristela.' But I do think that we are severely underrepresented in television and film. And instead of complaining about not seeing ourselves, we should become film producers, directors, and writers, and tell our story," she said.

Besides empowering Latin women to get educated and employed, Longoria has campaigned on melanoma awareness among Latinas. She said when she goes to the beach, she puts on SPF 50-plus sunscreen and makes sure others wear it too.

Longoria is currently taking the role of executive producer for Hulu's show "Mother Up!"
