This week Maria Bello wasn't the only one "coming out". Olympic Bronze Medalist Tom Daley took to YouTube to make a more personal confession to his fans. He wanted to let them know that he is in love with a man. Most people were very proud of Daley for making such a brave decision and he knew it, today he thanks everyone for their "overwhelming" support.

Ignoring the always immature and rude comments on social media site Twitter, Tom Daley tweeted "I'd like to say again a massive thanks for all the support yesterday...it truly was overwhelming" to his supporters. Tom Daley, who was attacked on Twitter before after losing out on a medal in the men's synchronized 10m platform diving event, received a tweet from a very ignorant person saying, "You let your dad down and I hope you know that". Daley's dad died from brain cancer in 2011. The Olympian simply responded, "After giving it my all...you get idiots sending me this", the person behind the rude tweet was later arrested.

But the tweets this time were mostly from fellow athletes, celebrities and fans congratulating Tom, 19, on his brave decision. As a public figure to make a video and reveal to fans that he is currently dating a man.... that took some strength! "In spring this year my life changed massively when I met someone, and they make me feel so happy, so safe and everything just feels great. That someone is a guy," Daley said. He was inspired to finally take this step by friend Aaron Renfree, former member of S Club 8, who is also gay. Aaron was one of Daley's number one fans tweeting "Big respect to@TomDaley1994 #proud". Tom was seen in pictures having a great time at club Zero, a gay club, just before "coming out" publically. A friend of Tom's was heard saying; "As you can probably tell Tom is gay and he'll be coming out tomorrow".

A great lesson from Hollywood this week has been to live your life and do not waste time hiding who you are. A beautiful message of equality and acceptance.
