Monday night's "The Fosters" Season 2 finale entitled "The End of the Beginning" promises huge reveals. In the promo video, there is one word that has fans on edge: fatality.

ABC Family released this season finale synopsis to shed light on what to expect:

"With one too many lies told in an effort to keep their growing family together, relationships will be put to the test and someone's story will end in tragedy on 'The Fosters' Spring Finale. A visit with Robert's father (guest star Patrick Duffy) makes Robert and Callie see each other in a new light. Mariana prepares for a make-or-break dance team showdown at school, and Jude takes a stand for a friend."

Callie Jacob has been through a lot during the winter season of "The Fosters." She watched her troubled foster brother Liam go to jail, she was an accessory to kidnapping, and she joined Mariana's dance team briefly.

The greatest part of her journey has been centered on her rocky relationship with her biological father, Robert Quinn, who wants full custody of her while Stef and Lena, and Callie herself, do everything in their power to stop his efforts.

Callie has secretly sought emancipation, but that presents its own problems. Once emancipated, she would have the power to choose who can adopt her, or live on her own. But how would Stef and Lena feel about the emancipation? It could ruin her relationship with them.

It is unclear if a visit by Callie's biological grandfather, Robert Quinn Sr., will help or complicate her adoption situation. We have not heard the best things about him in the past. The "family" lawyers were pulling all the strings when Callie first met her father, remember? The season finale ought to reveal how Quinn Sr. truly feels about his granddaughter.

Also, TVLine reports that Jude prepares to visit his friend Connor in the hospital by painting his nails blue. The nail polish, you may recall, has become symbolic of Jude's freedom of self-expression and exploration of his sexuality.

In the season finale, Jude's colored nails may also give him a courage boost as he crosses paths with Connor's disapproving father. Rumor has it that he doesn't back down.

"The Fosters" Twitter account has encouraged fans to paint their nails blue in support of Jude. The fan page tweeted late Sunday, "We'll be wearing #BlueForJude tomorrow in honor of #TheFosters spring finale!!! DO. NOT. MISS. IT!!!"
