It has been a very busy week for Colombian singer Shakira.

Shakira, 35, is set to replace Christina Aguilera on season 4 of NBC's "The Voice."

Today, the singer announced that she and Spanish soccer star boyfriend Gerard Piqué, 25, are expecting a baby.

"At this time we have decided to give priority to this unique moment in our lives and postpone all the promotional activities planned over the next few days," the singer wrote on her website.

Shakira said she will not be able to be a part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas tis weekend and that "will be closely following everything that happens there."

"I'd like to thank Clear Channel and my fans for their constant love and understanding," she said

Shakira and Piquè have been dating since 2010. This will be their first child. The couple purchased a home in Esplugues de Llobregat, Barcelona earlier this year. She did not announce when the baby is expected to arrive, but many speculate that the singer will give birth in January 2013.

Shakira burst onto the international pop scene with her 2006 single, "Hips Don't Lie." The two-time Grammy award winning artist signed on with Jay Z's Roc Nation in early 2012 to produce her latest album. She is also expected to go on a promotional tour next year.
