'Game Of Thrones' Season 5 Spoilers: Jon Snow Struggles With the Night's Watch, Arya Trains to Become an Assassin
HBO has officially released details highlighting the first three episodes of Season 5 of "Game Of Thrones."
In the first episode, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harington, finds himself struggling to balance the rigors of the Night's Watch with those of the newly arrived and aspiring king of Westeros Stannis Baratheon character played by Stephen Dillane. The episode also finds Cersei Lannister (Lena Headey) struggling to hold onto power in King's Landing and Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) embarking on a "secret mission."
Between Episodes 2 and 3 ("The House of Black and White" and "High Sparrow"), Arya Stark, played by Maisie Williams, reportedly comes face to face with the "Many-Faced God" in Braavos. At one point, she joins the Faceless Men and is forced to "renounce her previous identity to train to become an assassin."
According to the HuffingtonPost.com, other unconfirmed leaks suggest Episode 4 will be titled "The Sons of Harpy," focussing on a group of rebels donning golden masks and acting out against Dany's rule. Episode 5 is billed as "Kill The Boy," a title believed to derive from a quote spoken by Jon Snow from the books: "Kill the boy and let the man be born."
By Episode 7, "The Gift," we get a glimpse of a gift Cersei receives from the Sand Snakes. Reportedly, it is an open-mouthed snake statue with a medallion in its mouth. How's that for intrigue and symbolism?
Characters from the "Game of Thrones" are based on the individuals created by author George R.R. Martin in his novels. The show chronicles the life and times of the people of the so-called "Known World" as they battle for control of the Iron Throne and the continent of Westeros.
"Game of Thrones" Season 5 premieres on Sunday, April 12, at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
