After recently announcing her departure from E!'s "Fashion Police," Kathy Griffin could now possibly be joining "The View" as a co-host, the New York Daily News reports.

Griffin recently made an appearance on "The View" on March 16 to discuss her "Fashion Police" departure and following her appearance, Griffin allegedly made a great impression on show's co-hosting panel.

Whoopi Goldberg in particular was impressed with Griffin and now wants her to be on "The View," according to the NY Daily News.

"She was great and has Whoopi (Goldberg)' s backing," says a New York Daily News source.

The source added, "Whoopi loves Kathy. The View would be a perfect fit if Kathy wanted to fly to New York weekly. It's a Monday-through-Thursday job and she can tour on the weekends, the best two nights to sell tickets."

Prior to Griffin's appearance on "The View," Goldberg praised Griffin via Twitter for leaving "Fashion Police," Entertainment Tonight reports.

So far, no one from "The View" has confirmed or denied rumors that Griffin will join the show. Griffin first announced her departure from "Fashion Police" on March 12 via Twitter.

In a lengthy tweet, where she described her accomplishments as a comedian, Kathy named her creative differences with E! as the reason why she chose to leave the show.

"After seven episodes of Fashion Police, I discovered that my style doesn't fit with the creative direction of the show & now it's time to move on," she wrote, adding, "I wish E! and the E! team only the best and I hope to continue to make you all laugh performing live or on television where I can be smart, irreverent, unrepentant and unafraid in an observational way that is candid, honest and justified. Thank you to my fans for taking this ride with me."

Griffin's departure followed Kelly Osbourne's decision to leave "Fashion Police."
