On Sunday, music legend Prince issued a campaign for his new protege, Judith Hill, at his Paisley Park estate, Yahoo! News reports.

Prince invited several members of the press to take a listen to Hill's debut album, "Back in Time," which he produced, the Star Tribune adds.

Hill is best known for previously being a contestant on "The Voice" and being a backup singer for some of the music industry's greatest artists, including Stevie Wonder, Elton John and Michael Jackson.

But despite her accolades, Prince claims that he actually discovered Hill was after watching a video clip of an interview she did on a European television show where she revealed she wanted to work with him, Star Tribune reports.

Prince then made it his mission to track her down and invited her to a listening party in Los Angeles where the two discussed what kind of music Hill wanted to make, Prince explained.

Then, after their meeting, Hill and Prince recorded Hill's entire debut album at his Paisley Park estate in approximately three weeks, he told Star Tribune.

Hill says that her album "Back in Time" includes new music that she worked on with Prince and older music she wrote a while back.

"The album shows further identifiable signs of Prince's rhythms on tracks such as "Wild Tonight" and the more pop "Angel in the Dark," Yahoo! News critiques, adding, "But Hill, once chosen as a backup singer to Michael Jackson, shows the full richness of her voice on stripped-back, old-fashioned R&B songs such as 'Cry, Cry, Cry.'"

Judith Hill's official website claims that the 31-year-old singer wrote her first song at the age of 4. Hill then went on to have a successful career as a backup singer in the music industry and had been praised for her "powerhouse vocals" by Rolling Stone.

Hill's career as a backup singer was documented in the film "20 Feet From Stardom," which has won the Film Critics Award for Best Documentary and the Academy Award for Best Documentary.
