The Copa America is coming up soon and the South American sides are running out of preparation games. For Chile, its Wednesday match with Iran is its second-to-last before the nation hosts the biggest tournament.

Chile is one of the favorites to win the Copa America after a promising World Cup last summer in Brazil. The team is led by Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez, Juventus star Arturo Vidal and Barcelona keeper Claudio Bravo.

"It's an important game for us, we have these two games before the Copa America and we must take advantage," said Vidal regarding the game against Iran.

The game is a major prep match for the team, but it also provides Sanchez with an opportunity to continue ascending the list of Chile's top goal scorers. The 26-year-old currently has 26 goals in 77 matches for Chile and sits fourth on the all-time list. In first place is Marcelo Salas with 37 goals in 70 appearances. Ivan Zamorano sits in second with 34 goals in 69 games while Carlos Caszely had 29 goals between 48 games. Considering his age, Sanchez is likely to top that record as he enters his prime years.

Eduardo Vargas is another active player that is in the top 10 in goals scored by Chileans. The 25-year-old Queens Park Rangers player has 18 strikes in 39 matches. He is unlikely to pass Sanchez, but he could find himself among the top three on the all-time scorers list if he continues his current level of play. Other active players on the top scorers list for the national side include Matias Fernandez (14 goals in 60 games) and Esteban Paredes (10 goals in 35 matches).

Predictions

Chile wins 3-2.
