A seven-year-old photo allegedly showing Bigfoot roaming through a field in southwest Colorado near a tiny town called Silverton has resurfaced, sparking new debate.

The photo was discussed earlier this month on the popular sci-fi program "Paranormal Central" on March 8, reports the Durango Herald.

During the episode, the hosts of the show, Danny Valderrama's and Jeff Gonzalez, examined and debate the photo where the mysterious creature appears to be running alongside a river near the Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad. The photo was taken in 2008.

This, however, was not first time that the 629-member community has been fixated on finding a Sasquatch in Silverton. Back in 2010, Rick Lewis, owner of the Bigfoot Central gift shop and the Legend of Bigfoot Museum in Silverton, tried to organize a "Hunt For Bigfoot," promising to offer a $1 million award to anyone who could present a verifiable photograph of Bigfoot. But town officials canceled the event in fear that it may have been a scam, reports the Silverton Standard & the Miner.

Last month, a YouTube video claiming to have captured Bigfoot lurking in the woods of Utah went viral. The video footage was originally uploaded by YouTube user Mountain Hiker. The recording was then reposted by The Paranormal Review, which is a group that analyzes Bigfoot, Sasquatch and UFO sightings. So far, it has received more than 279,000 views.

The person who captured the footage recalled the events leading up to the sighting of the beast in the description box. It states that a hiker was at the American Fork Canyon near Tibble Creek Reservoir when they think they ran into the ape-like creature.

"I thought I saw something a few minutes before when I was a little further away. It kinda scared me but I figured it was probably just a moose, elk, or maybe a bear," they write, adding that "the area is pretty forested and I wasn't quite sure where the animal was. I only saw it for a second before it [disappeared] behind some trees. I had to walk through some snow and trees to get to where I start the recording."
