'Mortal Kombat X': New Trailer Shows Bone-Crunching Scenes, New Character Confirmed [Watch]
A new Russian trailer for "Mortal Kombat X" confirms that "Mortal Kombat" regular Liu Kang will be returning in the game as a playable character, ComicBook.com reports. The video also previews some of the extremely gruesome and detailed fight scenes.
The video starts with Raiden explaining he has lost Kung Lao and Liu Kang to NetherRealm evil. He says they were like sons to him.
In the video three characters are spotlighted: Kung Lao, series newcomer Kung Jin and Klassic Mortal Kombat Kombatant Liu Kang.
Liu Kang and Kung Lao died in "Mortal Kombat 9." Now that they have come back to life, they both are possessed and have turned evil.
The video shows some slow-motion X-ray closeups of skulls and bones being crushed by fighters. One scene shows a fighter karate chopping the back of another fighter's neck and the bones shattering.
Cassie Cage, Johnny Cage's daughter asks for Sub-Zero's help. She tells him that her father wants to talk to him.
"Talking is always his first choice," Sub-Zero replied.
Then more fighting scenes are shown. One shows a fighter shooting two arrows through another fighter's eyes before pulling him back and slamming him into the ground, shattering his rib cage.
Liu Kang's extremely gruesome fatality ends the trailer. Liu Kang reaches for his opponent's throat, pulls out an organ, and shoves it back in. The opponent is barely standing and Liu Kang pushes him over with just one finger.
The video goes dark and Goro appears.clenching his fists. The title of the game and its release date of April 14, 2015 are then shown as the video ends.
The next "Mortal Kombat X" live stream will take place Friday. Another character could be introduced during the live stream.
