Week 29 of the La Liga season kicks off with Eibar and Rayo Vallecano facing off on Friday afternoon. Last week we saw Real Madrid and Barcelona collide in the El Clasico for the second this season, and Valencia continued their miracle run.

Barcelona continued their winning ways with a 2-1 victory over Real Madrid at home. With that win, Barcelona extended their overall record to 22-2-4, giving them 68 points. Barcelona has won 10 of their last 11 La Liga games, and they hold a four-point lead over Real Madrid in the standings.

Barcelona will face Celta Vigo on Sunday. Celta Vigo doesn't even have a winning record, but this is no "gimme game" for Barcelona. Celta Vigo defeated Barcelona in Week 10 at the Camp Nou, and this game will be played in Vigo.

Lionel Messi has been on a hot streak unlike any other over the last two months. The 27-year-old Argentinean has a league-leading 32 goals and 14 assists this season. Messi will have to play an international friendly against El Salvador the day before his match against Celta Vigo, but he should be prepared for a huge weekend of soccer. Goalkeeper Claudio Bravo has been outstanding for Barcelona this season, as has Neymar and Luis Suarez. Suarez scored his first career El Clasico goal last week.

Cristiano Ronaldo and Real Madrid are trying to get out of a slump. Real Madrid has just three wins in their last seven games. The loss of Colombian middle fielder James Rodriguez has been absolutely devastating for this squad. Ronaldo can only do so much, and Gareth Bale has become the focal point of criticism among Real Madrid fans. Bale needs to make better passes and play more efficient defense.

Real Madrid will play 19th place Granada to open up Sunday's set of games. Real Madrid already defeated Granada in Week 10, 4-0, in Granada. This game will be played in Madrid.

Atletico Madrid isn't playing nearly as well as they did last season with their anemic offense, and they presently sit in fourth place in the standings. Valencia, however, has been one of the best teams over the last two months climbing up the standings. Valencia currently sits in third place, and they will play Villarreal on Sunday. If Valencia wins their game and Real Madrid loses, Valencia will be just one point back of second place in the standings.
