Mexico and Ecuador face off in an international friendly on Saturday.

This will be the 22 times these teams face off and Ecuador will look for some respectability in this tie.

Mexico has a stellar record against the Ecuadorians, winning 15 times, drawing four games and losing just two times. These teams actually faced off almost one year ago as a warm-up to the World Cup. Mexico took a massive 3-1 win over Ecuador, snapping a two-game winless streak against the nation. Prior to that game, Ecuador had managed a 1-1 draw in 2011 and had also defeated Mexico 2-1 in September 2010.

These teams have met just five times in competitive games; Mexico has won every single one of those matches. In the 2002 World Cup meeting between the two nations, Mexico came away with a 2-1 victory in group play. Mexico would finish atop Group G in that tournament while Ecuador would wind up in the basement with three points gained from a win over Croatia.

Of course, the game will still feature a ton of questions for Mexico. Guillermo Ochoa was the main man in between the pipes in the World Cup. But he has not managed to get a starting spot in Spain and has instead seen most of his time on the bench. Meanwhile, Jose Corona, who continues to be a main man in the Liga MX, has struggled to regain the starting spot despite more consistent playing time.

The other big question will be the form of Javier Hernandez, who has also struggled to see playing time as a member of Real Madrid. Chicharito is actually third all-time on Mexico's top scorers list with 38 strikes in 70 caps. He trails all-time leader Jared Borgetti by eight goals, but will have to return to top form in order of having any hopes of catching him in the next few seasons.

More importantly, Chicharito must find his top form if he has any hopes of remaining a starter for Mexico.

Predictions

Mexico wins 2-1.
