Fans of James Spader’s seamless slide into smarmy, seductive villain mode rejoiced when the NBC series “The Blacklist” emerged in 2013.

The dark show, about a criminal mastermind named Raymond Reddington, who now works with the FBI for private reasons, has resulted in some of Spader's most interesting acting since he played a lonely voyeur in Soderbergh’s 1989 film “Sex, Lies, and Videotape,” or that automobile accident obsessed deviant in David Cronenberg’s 1996 flick, “Crash.”

In the upcoming episode, "Vanessa Cruz," the FBI task force will be tracking down a sexy female frame-up artist who targets the wealthy.

As reported in Spoilers Guide, this week’s “Blacklister” will be played by Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera.

In the episode, Tom (Ryan Eggold) pleads for help from Liz (Megan Boone).

And Red will pressure Liz for the Fulcrum, a blackmail file on the group known as the “Alliance,” claiming that he needs it as a matter of life and death.

Spader has a long history of playing strange and fascinating men.

In a Rolling Stone interview, the 55-year old actor said, "It can never, ever, ever get weird enough for me."

Spader, who played a sadistic lawyer in 2002’s “Secretary,” admits to being a pathological nitpicker.

"I have very, very strong obsessive-compulsive issues. I'm very particular," said the actor, who relies on "a certain routine" to get through life.

"It's very hard for me, you know? It makes you very addictive in behavior, because routine and ritual become entrenched. But in work, it manifests in obsessive attention to detail, and fixation. It serves my work very well: Things don't slip by. But I'm not very easygoing," said Spader.

The universally loathed antagonist of the 80s teen classic “Pretty in Pink” went on to describe what for him has always been an experimental sexual side.

"You know, I had two older sisters, and everybody seemed to be naked all the time, my parents and my sisters," Spader said. "Our household was very comfortable with sexuality. There was just a lot of girls around. And guys. I played doctor with both."

Episode 18 of the “Blacklist" will air on April 2.
