Marvel 'Avengers 2 'Age of Ultron' Spoilers, Characters & Cast News: Next 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' Trailer Is 'Attached' to Movie (VIDEO)
"Avengers" and "Star Wars" fans are in for a treat -- the new "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" trailer will be shown on May 1st.
According to Collider, it's confirming previous reports "that the new trailer for J.J. Abrams' highly anticipated sequel is definitely attached to every copy of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron' that will play in theaters, giving it a guaranteed massive audience."
"Of course, Disney owns both Marvel and Lucasfilm so this is was an obvious place for the next trailer to play (and at the beginning of the summer movie season, no less), but if there were any doubts, those can safely be put to rest."
Trekkies can also see the new trailer that will first premiere at the "Star Wars Celebration" convention, which runs from April 16 to 19 in Anaheim, California and the "Age of Ultron" international release, which hits theaters on April 22 (and as mentioned, in the U.S. on May 1st).
Many inquiring "Avengers" and "Star Trek" fans are wondering which route Disney/Lucasfilm will go in -- whether they release the "Star Wars" trailer online "to avoid a low-quality version hitting first," Collider points out. Or "will they put an HD version of the trailer online immediately or shortly after it premieres at 'Star Wars Celebration,' or will they want to give those in attendance a short "exclusive" window before it goes wide to audiences across the globe?"
Either way fans can get the big screen treatment as they gear up for the highly-anticipated "Avengers: Age of Ultron."
In 2012, Marvel's "The Avengers" had an impressive $207.4 million opening weekend domestically and went on to gross over $1.5 billion worldwide.
"Avengers: Age of Ultron" stars Robert Downey Jr., James Spader, Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Scarlett Johansson, Don Cheadle, Elizabeth Olsen, Samuel L. Jackson, Jeremy Renner and Lou Ferrigno, among others.
"Avengers 2 'Age of Ultron" hits theaters May 1, 2015. "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" hits theaters on Dec. 18, 2015.
