Harry Styles is reportedly unhappy about Zayn Malik's unexpected departure from One Direction, but it's not because he can no longer sing with him on stage. Instead, Style is supposedly upset because he did not quit the boyband before his bandmate.

Closer magazine, via J-14, recently reported that Styles has always wanted to pursue a solo career before anyone else in the pop mega-group, and he is now worried that Malik's recent move will overshadow his original plan.

"Harry has always wanted to have a solo career and now fears Zayn may beat him to it and take all the attention," a source alleged.

The source added that losing the fifth member made the others think about their lives after they eventually split. This has reportedly given them new worries.

"None of them see the band as forever, but now they're worried it may all end before they're ready," the source said. "Ultimately, they all want to forge solo careers of their own."

It also seems as though Styles has mixed feelings about Malik quitting the boyband, as he supposedly feels something more than jealousy.

"They all feel betrayed by Zayn, but especially Harry," an insider told HollywoodLife.com. "Harry was always his biggest supporter and close friend."

The four "Steal My Girl" crooners are allegedly disappointed at their friend of five years, because he is currently "acting like he's above them, like he's too good for the band."

Not only that, Styles is reportedly upset that Malik may have crossed the line with Simon Cowell, who first discovered One Direction on "The X Factor (U.K.)" and has mentored them so far.

"Harry has always been very appreciative of everything and the producers have done and feels like Zayn has disrespected them," another insider added.

Cowell is soon to find out if he'll be able to build another One Direction-level boyband. He has teamed up with Univision to find a Latino boyband, according to the network.
