Andrew Getty, an heir to the billion-dollar Getty oil fortune, was found dead at his Hollywood Hills home on Tuesday.

The 47-year-old revealed that he was diagnosed with a serious medical condition in 2013 that put him at "grave risk of substantial and irreparable injury or death" in court documents filed March 16 in support of a restraining order he sought against a former girlfriend, reports the Los Angeles Times. Although he did not name his condition in the documents, he said that his doctors had advised "that heated arguments can cause my blood pressure to rise dangerously," putting him at "serious risk."

Athough officials had initially called his death an accident after finding medication at the scene, the Los Angeles County coroner's Assistant Chief Ed Winter said Getty's death appeared to be from natural causes. He added it can take up to 10 weeks for coroner's officials to process the results from his examination and toxicology tests.

"The tentative information that we do have is that he was not feeling good for the last couple months and he supposedly had an appointment tomorrow with a personal physician," added Winter Tuesday night, reports The Associated Press.

After a woman called 911 to report Getty's death around 2:15 p.m., responding officers found his dead body surrounded by significant amounts of blood in a bathroom at his mansion, police spokesman Jack Richter said. However, medical officials determined the blood was related to some type of medical problem.

Investigators also recovered prescription medication and learned that he told others that he had not been feeling well in recent months, said Winter.

"He had a whole plethora of medical issues," said LAPD Capt. William Hayes. "We believe it is a natural-caused death."

Getty is the grandson of J. Paul Getty, the founder of the Getty Oil Co. and the son of Gordon Getty, a billionaire philanthropist and businessman.
