Los Angeles police are investigating claims made by the ex-wife of rap mogul Damon Dash alleging that he kidnapped their young daughter.

According to TMZ.com, Rachel Roy claims Dash took the girl from a nail shop, presumably without her knowledge or her permission. The website alleges she also paints Dash as an "abusive stoner with a history of domestic abuse."

Several media outlets have reported Roy sent police to Dash's home last week after the girl hadn't been at school. She is now seeking to have Dash stripped of all his visitation rights.

Meanwhile, TMZ.com reports Dash has branded all of Roy's charges as some sort of power play and insists he never kidnapped any of his children. Dash also labeled his ex's overall behavior as simple harassment. The two split back in 2009 and have two daughters together, Ava and Tallulah.

Dash, 43, formed Roc-a-Fella Records with former partner Jay Z. He also once served as the rap legend's manager and in 1999 organized a tour featuring the "99 Problems" rapper that earned more than $19 million. The two also teamed up to create the Rocawear clothing line.

Def Jam Recording purchased Roc-a-Fella in 2004 and soon after that Dash and Jay's relationship infamously began to splinter, with Dash ultimately claiming he felt Jay had "betrayed" the label, according to MTV. In 2005, Jay Zcompletely bought out Dash's stake in Rocawear.

Dash also once dated the late Aaliyah, who died in a plane crash in the Bahamas in August of 2001. The two dated for more than a year and Dash has since claimed they planned to marry.

As a youngster, Dash attended both private and public schools. He attended a school in Connecticut, which boys with behavorial issues attended, according to Details.

"I'm one of those guys who has two very concrete experiences," he said. "One was the authentic experience in the street, and the other was boarding school and people from different cultures. So just like Jay, I'm able to articulate my experiences."
