Batman vs. Superman Movie Cast Rumors and News: Jason Momoa of Game of Thrones Signs On
Warner Bros. and DC Entertainment have added another recognizable face to their upcoming and highly awaited Batman vs. Superman film (still untitled): Jason Momoa, who has played the barbarian leader Khal Drogo in HBO's Game of Thrones and Conan in Conan the Barbarian in 2011. As you may notice, the guy is big and intimidating, making him a perfect match for a DC Superhero or Villain.
Sources tell the Hollywood Reporter that Zack Snyder has chosen Jason Momoa to either play Doomsday, the Kryptonian killing machine, or Martian Manhunter, the powerful alien who has been trapped on earth. DC fans are excited for Doomsday since he did kill Superman in the comics.
The rumor is that Doomsday will be joining bad guy Lex Luthor to destroy and cause some trouble between Batman and Superman. Many people even thought that Doomsday was dead "after Dan Jurgens sent him to the end of time" in 1995's Hunter Prey. Turns out he might be alive and well, not to mention what a good fit Jason Momoa would be because of his physique and past film experience (being a Barbarian and all).
Doomsday was just a hint that we speculated from the extras of the Man of Steel Blu-ray; Martian Manhunter is also a possibility. At that point it seems like Snyder has brought the entire Justice League to come along for the ride. Momoa joins Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman.
People seem to be warming up to each character as time allows us to process it all. Well, to be honest, we're not too worried about Jason Momoa or Henry Cavill, we just really want Affleck to blow us away and for Godot to gain some weight (and maybe buy some Victoria's Secret padded bras).
What do you think about Jason Momoa joining the cast?
