Welcome to the downunderworld. On Dec. 10, a giant Australian rapist was sentenced to prison, reports the Herald Sun.

The man, Noureldin Derwish, reportedly weighs 150 kilograms (330 pounds). He is said to have crushed his victims -- though not to death -- under his immense weight as he raped them. And that's just one lurid detail in this outsized story of sex, lies and violence.

Derwish, 27, was convicted of multiple rape, threats to kill, and false imprisonment. His victims included a 17-year-old girl and a woman he falsely hired for a non-existent job.

Like an enormous evil version of Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me if You Can, Derwish lured and manipulated his victims with a series of fake identities and fabricated claims. The Daily Mail reports that Derwish cast himself first as Ali, an Islamic terrorist with links to Osama Bin Laden and the Egyptian Mafia. Later, he posed as Fernando, a ruthless and powerful drug kingpin with connections throughout the international criminal underworld.

Derwish didn't just brag about his supposed criminal powers. He used them to threaten and coerce his victims. When she tried to turn down his advances, Derwish told his first victim, the 17 year old girl, that his Egyptian mafia connections would "hunt her down." He later told her that he and his mafia associates would find and murder her family if she ever went to the police.

To lure his second victim, Derwish first offered her a non-existent job at a strip club he claimed to own. When she turned that down, he apparently offered her a different, more desirable, job. This position was equally fake, but the promise of employment kept the woman close. Derwish first tried to use his position as the woman's soon-to-be employer to coerce her into sex. When she refused, he told her he was a major player in the cocaine trade and threatened to make her watch as he killed her entire family.

Derwish's threats were enough to terrify both of his victims into complying with his demands. He frightened both women into meeting with him multiple times to be raped. The second victim was also forced to make two sex videos.

Both women have suffered severe trauma as a result of their ordeals. Derwish's sentence is for 12 years and 3 months, with the possibility of early release after 8 years. Additionally, he will be permanently listed as on the sex offender's registry.
