iPhone 6c Rumors, News & Update: Next Camera to Take DSLR Quality Pictures?
The next Apple iPhone could be called the iPhone 6c and 6s or the iPhone 7. There are many questions regarding Apple's next smartphone, including its name, release date and more.
The release date for a new iPhone is expected to follow the recent patterns of iPhone introductions. That means September of every year, a new device is expected to be released. The iPhone 5 came out in September 2013 and the iPhone 6 in September 2014. The next iPhone is expected in September as well, The Next Digit reports.
If Apple wants to release two iPhones this year, it could release an iPhone 6s/6c before September and then the iPhone 7 in September. If Apple planned to release a new iPhone along with the new Apple Watch, it's likely the company would have announced it by now.
The name of the device is still in question. It's common for completely new models to be released when big improvements are made. Otherwise, it's likely that the next phones will be either the 6s or 6c.
A big question for the next iPhone will be the screen size. The current iPhone 6 measures in at 4.7 inches and it is extremely popular. The iPhone 6 Plus is considered too big by some at 5.5 inches. The iPhone 5 measures in at 4 inches, which is generally thought of as being on the small side. The latest iPhone could even choose to utilize all three sizes to please everyone.
The next iPhone is also expected to have a 3D display that will be visible without 3D glasses.
The next camera for the iPhone will be a big improvement. Apple plans to offer "DSLR quality imagery" in their smartphone camera. MacWorld reports that the shape of the camera will change from a circle-shaped lens to an oval-shaped lens.
Battery life will continue to improve with the introduction of the next iPhone. Apple will have to find a way to build a small battery that is also capable of longer battery life.
A new feature called Force Touch will be included with the next iPhone. This feature will allow the screen to tell the difference between a light tap and a press of the screen.
Finally, the next iPhone will likely utilize the latest Apple operating system, iOS 9.
