"Reign" fans have been patiently waiting for the next episode since the show's hiatus following Episode 17, "Tempting Fate," on March 19.

"Tempting Fate" began in Le Havre, France, where Mary's agent, Ridley, got killed by a man who found Mary's letters about her plans to return to Scotland. The letters eventually ended up in Narcisse's possession. Narcisse handed the letters over to Catherine who planned to tell Francis so that he can stop Mary.

Mary and Condé met in the chapel to kiss and plan their move to Scotland.

Bash packed up and left Kenna, but later asked her not to annul their marriage. He doesn't think he is the right man for her, but he wants her to keep his name to protect her until the right man comes along.

Catherine discovered Mary's affair. She confronted Francis who lied for his wife.

Francis warned Mary about Catherine's vengeful nature.

Claude attempted to seduce Narcisse, but he rejected her and told Catherine. Catherine enlisted Leith to be Claude's bodyguard.

When Mary discovered her letters could fall into the wrong hands, she told Condé. He told her about an English contact he knows who might have information about Scotland ports and military strategy -- the same man negotiating a marital alliance between him and Queen Elizabeth.

Mary asked Condé to choose between her and Elizabeth. He chose Mary, and the two enjoyed sex for the first time. "You are my choice and this is our moment," she told him.

Bash stripped a man of his title after the man committed domestic violence. The abuser later tracked down Bash and stabbed him in the eye. Bash woke up to find a Woman in White at his side who he asked to heal him, and she did.

Later, Mary's letters were returned to her. Catherine told Francis of Mary's plans. Francis collapsed, and to Catherine's horror, she realized that Nostradamus' vision was true.

Francis, who was placed in bed, began to bleed from his ear. His life hanging in the balance, Mary becomes the temporary leader of France.

In the next episode of "Reign," titled "Reversal of Fortune," Mary realizes she can use her newfound power to save Scotland. Catherine enlists Narcisse to help outwit Mary at her own game. Saved by the Woman in White, Bash is determined to bring his attempted murderer to justice. He discovers a familiar face in the village.

Episode 18, "Reversal of Fortune," airs Thursday, April 16 at 9 p.m. ET on The CW.
