You might have enjoyed watching him as the handsome Fred in the live-action comedy "Scooby Doo," but now actor Freddie Prinze Jr. is returning to his culinary roots as a chef.

Although you will still likely see him on film and television, the "Star Wars Rebel" voice actor will be teaching you how to create amazing and innovative dinner ideas in the kitchen along with award winning food journalist Rachel Wharton, according to E! News.

Prinze has taken to Twitter and boasted about his culinary creations with pictures and comments. He is also publicly supported by his wife, actress Sarah Michelle Gellar, on her own Twitter Page.

The book, "Back to the Kitchen," is expected to include 75 of his best recipes and will also feature a foreword by Gellar. Additionally, it will have content directly related to his home life.

"I have been cooking longer than I've been acting -- in fact, if I hadn't made it as an actor, I'd probably be a chef today," Prinze said in a quote to E!.

Prinze also said that he was in culinary school when he landed his first role.

"Cooking has always been a huge part of my life -- my mom encouraged me to explore the world through food and when I became a dad, I knew that I would do the same with my own kids," Prinze said.

He will be publishing with Rodale Books and he even gave them credit as "pioneers in the organic movement" and praised them for their "commitment to publishing books that improve people's lives."

Prinze's character roles over the years started out with a lot of teen movies such as "I Know What You Did Last Summer," "She's All That" and "Wing Commander." But in his role on the movie "Down to You," he played an aspiring chef who tries to win over a woman he has deep feelings for. This could be seen as a great example of art imitating life.
