A conservative super PAC announced on Thursday that it will be operating to raise and spend unlimited amounts of cash on behalf of Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, who is expected to officially launch his bid in the 2016 presidential race on Monday.

According to The Washington Post, the Conservative Solutions PAC will be led by veteran Republican operative J. Warren Tompkins.

The political committee will also be staffed with a host of senior officials from other major campaigns who will work to collect money from deep-pocketed donors to pay for Rubio's campaign ads and help the Cuban-American senator become the first Hispanic U.S. president.

Tompkins, who has worked on seven presidential primaries along with campaigns for George H. W. Bush, George W. Bush and Mitt Romney, released a statement about allying with Rubio.

"Support for Marco's positive conservative vision and his potential presidential run is growing every day, and I'm honored to help in that effort," Tompkins said. "This race will be won by the candidate with the best vision for where to take this nation and the resources to ensure that message is heard. Marco has the vision -- few have laid out in as much detail where they'd like to lead this country -- and we're going to spend the next two years ensuring that the resources are there and used to effectively share that vision with voters."

The announcement about the new PAC comes just days before Rubio is expected to deliver a speech at the Freedom Tower in Miami on Monday declaring his run for the White House, reports The Associated Press.

Although super PACs operate independently of political candidates and are not involved in their campaign strategies, they often serve to shape how voters perceive a candidate by funding their advertising. Norman Braman, a billionaire Miami-based auto dealer, is expected to give as much as $10 million to Rubio's campaign through Conservative Solutions.
