Destiny's Child Reunion: Could Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams Come Together for 10-Year Anniversary Tour?
Rumors have been circulating that say Destiny's Child will come together for a 10-year anniversary. However, the three singers, Beyonce, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams, have not publicly confirmed any plans.
The Daily Mail Online reported earlier this week that Beyonce, Rowland and Williams could come together later this year for a new tour and to record a new album. However, Mathew Knowles, Beyonce's father and the group's former manager, will not be part of the revival.
"Although Destiny's Child is made up of the three ladies, Beyoncé's father and former manager Mathew Knowles owns one-fourth of the group as well. Anytime they do anything under the name Destiny's Child, he has involvement in it and money from it," a source told the Mail Online.
The group disbanded in 2005.
The source explained the trio does not want anything to do with him, despite the fact that he managed the solo careers of the three as well as the group. He divorced Tina Knowles after it was revealed he had gotten another woman pregnant. But, it is also believed he took money from his daughter.
"That it was claimed Mathew stole money from Beyoncé and then he sued to prove that he didn't was bad enough. But all of the extramarital affairs and children outside the marriage just made it so that Beyoncé doesn't have anything to do with her dad at all," the source added.
Rumors began after the trio appeared at the 30th Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards. According to the Philadelphia Tribune, Williams was performing when Beyonce and Rowland appeared on stage to the surprise of the audience. The trio sang "Say Yes."
The Daily Mail Online explains the trio allegedly wants to make a new album to go with the tour; however, they want to get rid of Mathew but are unlikely to do so.
Despite the rumors, Gossip Cop has learned that it is not true and that the trio will not be getting back together for a tour or album.
"Not true. No album. No tour," a representative told the site.
