Lil Wayne Hot New 'Tha Carter V' Album Release 2015: Young Thug Is Not Naming His Record 'Carter 6' [Watch]
Calm down Lil Wayne fans: Young Thug is no longer naming his upcoming album “Carter 6.”
In an interview with DJ Whoo Kid last year, the Rich Gang rapper revealed the problematic title, undoubtedly taken from the New Orleans emcee’s “Carter” series, for the first time.
“I just feel like I’m that big,” he said. “‘Cause he feel like after ‘Tha Carter V,’ he ain’t gonna make no more music. ‘Cause he feel like can’t nobody make music like that.”
With that being said, Wayne’s teenage daughter, Reginae Carter, tweeted last month that Thug’s decision was disrespectful and “pretty childish.”
While his anxiously awaited “Tha Carter V” album is long overdue, Weezy finally responded to the “Carter 6” plans at a concert in Mississippi on April 9, urging fans to “stop listening to songs n***as that pose naked on they motherf**king album cover” – clearly referencing to Thugger’s album cover.
The Atlanta native then reacted with some words of his own via Instagram: “I understand that Lil Wayne is frustrated about his career, and I feel him on that.”
After stirring up drama, Young Thug took to his Instagram account on Monday to let his fans know that he has changed his mind over alleged legal threat.
“Can’t name the mixtape ‘Carter 6’ because these f**k a** n***as tryin’ to sue just like some hoes,” he said. “Big ol’ Blood so… ‘Barter 6’ on the f**kin’ way.”
“Barter 6” is set for a release on April 17.
