The results are in: Justin Bieber has earned the most "likes" on his Instagram photo with Will Smith, making his photo the most "liked" photo on Instagram in 2013.

Captioned simply "Me & Uncle Will" and uploaded about 4 months ago, the photo got nearly 1.5 million likes and more than 61,000 comments.

With all the ratchetry and antics that are on Instagram every day -- even on Justin Bieber's own page -- why did this photo beat out so many others? According to The Daily Beast, Instagram CEO Kevin Systrom offered a very simple explanation: "I just think people love pictures of people, and it seemed like a fun picture. They were having fun. I also think it's because he has 12 million followers."

According to The Los Angeles Times, this is just the first in a series of trends proffered by the photo sharing site, which was acquired by Facebook for more than $1 billion. When it came to hashtags Instagram said the most used in 2013 was #love. Other top hashtags of 2013 included #selfie, #food, #tbt, #friends and #fashion. The top five geotagged cities in 2013 were New York, Bangkok, Los Angeles, London and Sao Paulo, in that order.

The Siam Paragon, a massive shopping mall in Thailand, was the top geotagged location in 2013, the second year in a row that a location in Thailand tops the list. The Siam Paragon was followed by Times Square, Disneyland, the Bellagio fountain in Las Vegas and Disney World Florida, in that order.
