Big Bird has made the official announcement via Sesame Street's Vine: One Direction is paying a visit to the world's most beloved, and known, street -- Sesame Street!

We have no idea what Niall, Harry, Liam, Louis and Zayn will be getting up to on Sesame Street, but they will be working with a number of characters.

In a pic making the rounds on Twitter, the guys are seen with Elmo, Grover, Bert, Ernie, Rosita and Telly.

And Harry is seen holding a purple U.

Sesame Street's Twitter account shared a pic of the boys on the building stoop with Big Bird -- so cute!

We can't wait to see them in action -- we're guessing they'll sing a song, right?

And wait we will. The tweet gave fans an estimated air date: "Good things come to those who wait! Watch ‪@OneDirection on Sesame Street's 45th season in fall 2014!"

The boys are the latest in a line of celebrities that have paid a visit to the world's most beloved, and best known, street -- and one of the longest-running shows on PBS. This year, Lady Gaga, Michelle Obama, Ricky Gervais, and even Katy Perry (in an unaired episode) have paid a visit to the Sesame Street stoop.
