New York officials are currently on the hunt for a man who is accused of raping a young woman inside of a Manhattan sports bar last weekend.

The attack took place in Manhattan's Kips Bay neighborhood around 7:45 p.m. on Saturday

Police say that the suspect hid inside of a basement bathroom stall at the Turnmill Bar on East 27th Street. He then grabbed a 23-year-old woman after she emerged from one of the other stalls, pulled her into a stall, grabbed her by the throat and raped her.

The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Healthplex Hospital to be treated and evaluated.

The suspect, who was described as being between 45 and 55 years old, fled the scene and was still on the loose as of Tuesday, according to The Associated Press.

The victim said that she did not know the suspect. However, police released surveillance video that shows him walking outside the bar shortly after the alleged assault.

According to the manager of the bar, the suspect happened to walk in and go downstairs to the toilets, which is where the assault took place, reports the New York Daily News. The manager added that the suspect was not a patron of the bar nor did he place an order.

Following the attack, the manager said the pub is considering adding extra security cameras.

One patron at the bar Monday night told NBC 4 New York that she was a frequent visitor and felt "very safe" at the Turnmill Bar and in the neighborhood.

However, another female patron pointed out that the bathrooms put customers in danger since they are located in the basement level of the building, at the end of a long hallway.

"When you have bathrooms downstairs, it isolates the victim from everybody else," she told the New York Post. "You're more prone to attract sketchy people down there."
