Just when we thought the NFL playoff picture couldn't get any more interesting, the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers had a wild finish to top of Sunday's action.

NFC Playoff Picture

The Packers dove back into the NFC North race -- without starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers yet again -- and now Green Bay sits at 7-6-1, breathing down the necks of the 8-6 first-place Chicago Bears.

The other current first place teams in the NFC include the Seattle Seahawks, New Orleans Saints, Philadelphia Eagles, and Chicago Bears. By no means are these positions solidified; the Eagles hold a one game lead over the Cowboys while the 49ers are tied for the second seed but are also in position for the sixth seed. It seems unlikely that the team will storm back to win the division, especially with only two games remaining and the high-flying Seahawks sitting in front of them in the NFC West.

The other Wild Card team in the NFC right now is the Carolina Panthers, a squad that started 1-3 and now they're tied for the second seed in the NFC and also tied for the NFC North Division lead.

AFC Playoff Picture

Meanwhile, things look completely different when we shift gears to the AFC. The Broncos and Patriots are in possession of the top two seeds, but both teams fell this past week. The Chiefs managed to win on Sunday and now they're tied for the division lead with the Broncos, but keep in mind that the Broncos have the head ot head tiebreaker over Kansas City.

The Dolphins also won on Sunday and now the team is in playoff position with the final wild card seed in the AFC. The Bengals and Colts are the third and fourth seeds in the AFC after both teams finished the week at 9-5.

Which teams Are Still Alive?

The most heartbreaking part of this year's playoff picture is the fact that the Arizona Cardinals are 9-5 but not in position to make the playoffs. The team would need either the fifth or sixth seeded teams to lose one game in order to create a three way tie, but then tiebreakers become a factor and Arizona might not even make the playoffs, even if they win out and go 11-5.
