Star Wars: Battlefront Trailer & News: Here's a First Look at Game Being Released in November [Watch]
The newest Star Wars game, Star Wars: Battlefront, will be released Nov. 17 for Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC. The game's first trailer was released Friday.
The game is a partnership between DICE and Lucasfilm. It plans to "deliver an incredibly authentic and immersive interactive entertainment experience featuring photorealistic visuals and epic action in iconic Star Wars locations."
The game will offer multiplayer battles of up to 40 players, "crafted missions" that can be played solo or with a friend using split screen offline or with a friend online and a traditional single-player mode, Gamespot reports.
Players will be able to fire blasters, ride speeder bikes and snow speeders, command AT-ATs and pilot TIE fighters and even the Millennium Falcon.
Some of the locations in Battlefront include Endor, Hoth, Tatooine and previously unexplored planet Sullust.
The trailer features an intense battle scene in a forest. Snow Troopers are on speeder bikes shooting and chasing through the forest. The heroes are able to fend off the Storm Troopers before they see an AT-AT Walker has arrived. They quickly destroy the small Walker but another much larger one appears.
The Walker starts shooting at the heroes and this prompts them to call in Y-Wings planes to help them. The Y-Wings planes are able to destroy the giant Walker by dropping bombs on it.
The Walker starts to fall as Storm Troopers and the heroes run to avoid having it land on them.
All of a sudden, a hand is shown with a light saber. It is Darth Vader
Other features for the game are then shown, including a snow level with more giant Walkers, an X-Wing fighter scene, Boba Fett using a jet pack to propel himself into the air and shoot his weapon and more aerial fighting scenes.
At the end of the trailer, players are told to pre-order to get bonus content early.
EA Games calls Battefront the most immersive game, with "unprecedented access to original Star Wars props and locations."
