Madonna was spotted texting during most of the second act of "Hamilton," a hip-hop musical about the life of Alexander Hamilton.

When the show's creator and star found out, he banned her from backstage, Fox News reported.

Saturday, Madonna headed to the Public Theater on Lafayette St. in New York to catch the evening show of "Hamilton," according to New York Daily News' column "Confidenti@l."

Instead of watching the play in its entirety, Madonna spent most of the second act texting on her cell phone. When "Hamilton" creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda found out, he made sure that she was called out for it.

After the show, Miranda got on the stage urging the audience to donate to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. He also took the opportunity to take a stab at Madonna. Miranda said someone in the audience, someone who had been doing a lot of texting during the performance, was capable of making a sizable donation.

Miranda did not stop there though.

He proceeded to deny backstage access for Madonna.

"Tonight was the first time I asked stage management NOT to allow a celebrity (who was texting all through Act 2) backstage #noselfieforyou," he tweeted.

Miranda later deleted that tweet.

Publicists for both Miranda and Madonna have not yet commented on the incident.

Many celebrities including Jake Gyllenhaal, Michal J. Fox, Matthew Morrison and Jesse Tyler Ferguson have seen the performance. Even First Lady Michelle Obama has seen the play which is headed to Broadway later this summer.

Obama attended the matinee performance on Saturday where Miranda thanked her for coming. Miranda also asked for donations from Obama, asking for Washingtons, Lincolns and even Hamiltons.

"There aren't any Obamas yet, but give it a few decades," he joked.
