Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are rumored to be on the verge of adding to their seemingly ever-growing family.

According to Life and Style, the high-powered, Hollywood A-listers are said to be in the process of legally adopting a Syrian child and are expected to have completed the process by the end of the summer.

The new child would make for No. 7 for the couple, who are already the proud parents of Maddox, 13, Pax, 11, Zahara, 10, Shiloh, 8, and twins Knox and Vivienne, 6.

A longtime friend of the couple recently told the British site Express that Jolie "has been moved to tears on several occasions over the plight of youngsters orphaned in the Syrian conflict." The source later added, "Now she has sorted out her health issues, she and Brad believe the time is right to adopt another orphan from there, most likely a daughter."

The 39-year-old Jolie recently underwent surgery to have her ovaries removed based on her family's long time history of and battles with cancer.

"I do believe in the old saying, 'What does not kill you makes you stronger,'" she told Elle Magazine. Later she added, "Our experiences, good and bad, make us who we are. By overcoming difficulties, we gain strength and maturity."

After being a couple for nearly a decade, Jolie and Pitt were secretly married in August of 2014 at their French home. All of six of their children were involved in the private ceremony performed by a California judge.

"How great is that," longtime pal George Clooney later told People. "I'm really happy for Brad and Angie and their whole family."

The 51-year-old Pitt was previously married to actress Jennifer Aniston while Jolie was briefly wedded to actors Johnny Lee Miller and Billy Bob Thornton.
