It is certainly Trailer Season.

Last week, the world got a look at the upcoming "Star Wars" movie's trailer, as well as the first "Batman vs. Superman" teaser. And now the first fully-fledged "Fantastic Four" trailer.

This is the second trailer for the film, but this one has revealed a lot more about the plot. We get off with Dr. Storm being questioned in a meeting about how things have changed and his singular focus is Reed Richards being the mastermind behind a new experiment. We learn that a machine has been concocted that will allow for inter-dimensional travel. And later on we see the four heroes, plus another character enter the machine.

The result? Trouble.

The Fantastic Four survive, but they are transformed into new and powerful creatures.

What happened to the fifth character? We don't know, but we might surmise that he turned into the film's main villain Doctor Doom.

What else did we learn from the trailer? That there is a little flirtation going on between Susan Storm and Reed that could lead to a romance.

And the trailer gave fans a peek at the massive The Thing on a number of occasions.

The film is not only looking to reboot the franchise, but give it a good name. The first two iterations of the "Fantastic Four" were critically panned, forcing 20ths Century Fox to look for a new means of revitalizing a major property. The newest entry looks to be following the trend of "dark" superhero movies.

The film features a superstar cast that includes Miles Teller, Kate Mara, Michael B. Jordan and Jamie Bell as the eponymous heroes. Josh Trank, who is slated to helm a "Star Wars" spin-off, is the director. The film is slated for a August 7, 2015 release and could be among the highest grossing movies of 2015
