Whoever said crime doesn't pay never met George Zimmerman: Trayvon Martin's killer can now add "painter" to his resume, as bids for his latest painting on eBay have soared past $100,000.

The Los Angeles Times is reporting that, as of Tuesday night, the price of his painting -- which features a black & white photo of the American flag with parts of The Pledge of Allegiance written on it -- was over $110,000, and it's expected to climb even higher before the bidding ends on Saturday. "Everyone has been asking what I have been doing with myself," the eBay posting from Zimmerman reads. "I found a creative, way to express myself, my emotions and the symbols that represent my experiences. My art work allows me to reflect, providing a therapeutic outlet and allows me to remain indoors :-)"

And, according to CNN, the painting has generated his fair share of supporters, who have left comments on his eBay page expressing their support of him. "Just wanted to tell you we all love you and stand behind you. You have so many people on your side I hope you know that!" a commenter wrote on the eBay page.

"Thank you so much for the words of kindness and support," reads the answer from Zimmerman. "I do know how many great Americans are still here, I run into at least 3-5 a day that go out of their way to tell me the same. Your Friend, GZ."

Mediaite has already challenged the originality of Zimmerman's painting, however: a side-by-side photo shows that Zimmerman got his photo of the American flag from the Shutterstock page. If the painting does sell, Shutterstock could definitely sue Zimmerman for the earnings, plus any damages incurred as a result of the sale. And, in the event anyone was curious as to whether this was real or just some hoax, eBay has posted a "certificate of authenticity" in the form of George Zimmerman -- fat and pompous as ever -- holding a picture of the "painting" for sale.

Isn't America great? (sarcasm)
