Mila Kunis Responds to 'Chicken Theft' Lawsuit From Ukrainian Woman
Ukrainian singer Kristina Karo has had a devastating childhood, stemming from the loss of a pet chicken when she was a child, according to TMZ.
The singer claims she was best friends with Mila Kunis in the Ukraine and that Kunis had "chicken envy." Karo claims that Kunis stole her pet chicken, named Doggie, and even admitted it to her.
"Kristina, you can have any other chicken as a pet, you have a whole chicken farm," Karo said as an accusatory quote from Kunis.
In the lawsuit, Karo claims to have went into therapy due to being an emotional wreck and when she came to L.A. to pursue a singing career, her proximity to Kunis has caused her to go back into therapy. The suit has been brought on to pay for the therapy and emotional distress.
But Kunis has spoken up about the lawsuit, notably on a video she and partner Ashton Kutcher made and posted on Twitter.
According to an article on USA Today, the video was of mock-outrage and distress by Kunis.
"I was devastated. I was weeping. I was dumbfounded," said Kunis in comically mocking fashion.
Although she said she had not been served with papers when asked during the tongue-in-cheek interview by Kutcher, she did say, "But, emotionally, I've been served."
In their mock-style interview, Kutcher asked Kunis if she plans to counter-sue Karo.
"I would like to launch a counter $5,000 lawsuit for sitting there making me watch your music video!"
What they are referring to is a video Karo put on YouTube for her song "Give Me Green Card," in which Kunis and Kutcher evidently both watched.
"The girl has a music video coming out the same time that she's suing you for $5,000 for the stolen chicken in the Ukraine," Kutcher pointed out in the Twitter video. He then turned to the camera and said, "No green card for you."
