A photo of a 4-year-old girl posing on a beach in Zushi, Japan last year is getting lots of buzz as many people believe that a Samurai ghost photobombed the pic.

In the picture, a mysterious pair of black boots and part of a blue shirt can be seen peeking out from behind the little girl as she is posing for the camera.

The girl's father, Martin Springall, said that he didn't see eerie shadow behind his daughter when he first took the picture on July 6, 2014. However, after the photo was developed, he noticed the strange figure standing behind his daughter and got creeped out.

Springall then showed the photo to his friend Brian Publicover during a camping trip in Japan in August. After Publicover uploaded it to Reddit, the pic began to go viral and many people began speculating the photo shows a Samurai ghost, being that the beach the girl and her dad were on was across a samurai graveyard.

"I took a few pictures, and when I was looking through them at night, I noticed what appeared to be a pair of boots behind her in one of the photos," he told ABC News. "I took several of her in the same spot, but only one had the boots."

Springall said the photo was taken during a weekend trip to the beach while he and his family were living in Toronto, Canada.

"Some thought it could be the ghost of a World War II sailor," Springall said.

He added the photo is "completely legitimate" and has not been retouched.

"My daughter is really shy, and she wouldn't have taken a picture if there was someone standing behind her, which I would have definitely noticed," Springall said.
