What started out as a fan favorite, which had no real premise to be ongoing, "American Horror Story" has dazzled fright fans all across the country with its intricate and disturbing storylines, visuals and macabre structures.

As reported by Time and supported by a tweet from series creator Ryan Murphy, Season 5's "Hotel" will see the return of series regular, Evan Peters. Murphy also gave a little tease of what to expect from Peter's character this season.

"This season, Evan Peters will be waiting for you in Room 64. ‪#AHSHOTEL," Murphy wrote in the tweet.

The series mostly takes root in classic American horror themes and what set's it apart from other "Scary" series on TV is that it focuses on one specific story each season and then completely reinvents itself in the next.

Basically, series regulars such as Peters, Jessica Lange, Lily Rabe and Kathy Bates (since season three) have all taken on different roles and played different characters. Lange usually appears as an antagonist in most episodes, but each character she plays always seems to have one or two redeeming qualities. But the Inquisitr reports that Lange will not be joining the "Hotel" cast next season.

Themes inherent to the series in most seasons are hauntings. In Season 1, it was a house that contained ghosts from people who had died there over the years. Some of the deaths occurred from the ghosts themselves, others occurred from its own inhabitants. It made the premise that it was haunted, or maybe even cursed to be haunted, throughout the years.

The second season featured an asylum, which had among other spooky things, ghosts, aliens, supernatural beings and mad scientists. It was interwoven with tales of insanity that were treated with spiritual guidance from the priest who ran the asylum and the mad doctor who committed atrocities in the name of science.

Season 3 delved into classic American horror with a coven of witches. Yet still, another ghost has made an appearance, albeit a ghost from the past that was cursed by the coven themselves from a previous class of witches. Themes inherent to the season were not only about descendants of the Salem Witches but voodoo curses and sacrifices for eternal life, including the macabre presence of demons. It even delved into zombies in an episode.

The most recent installment in season four struck a new cord with American horror audiences with a grotesque freak show that made yet another classic American tale of horror.

What we can expect from Season 5, just like any other great haunted house, is a throwback to hotel horror. Movies like "The Shining" and "1408" come to mind, which were both tales from Stephen King's novel vault.
