A Venezuelan woman who threw a mango with a message at President Nicolas Maduro has just had her wish for a room granted by the socialist leader.

Marleny Olivo threw the mango at Maduro while he was driving a bus through the central state of Aragua and hit him on the head. The juicy stone fruit had a message on it, which pleaded for Maduro’s help.

The desperate lady’s plan came to fruition as Maduro displayed the mango with her telephone number on it during a live television show afterwards, agreeing to her request for a flat.

As reported by BBC, Maduro described his action as part of the "Great Housing Mission of Venezuela."

Olivo’s handwritten message on a mango, which had name and phone number, was simple: "If you can, call me." Reportedly she got as close to the bus as she could when it passed and then tossed the fruit his way. Olivo explained that there was "no evil intent" behind the incident, just a basic desire to fulfill her dream of owning a home before she dies.

The president can be seen, in the viral video that captured the incident, lowering his head when he is hit just above the left ear. Showing no panic, Maduro just picked up the mango and held it for the crowd to see.

The president discussed the incident in one of his regular live TV broadcasts later that night, saying, "She had a housing problem, right? And, Marleny, I have approved it already, as part of the Great Housing Mission of Venezuela, you will get an apartment and it will be given to you in the next few hours.

"Tomorrow, no later than the day after tomorrow, we will give it to you."
