If you've never played "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" here's a summary: You play a security guard who uses a security camera system to monitor Freddy Fazbear's Pizza that is haunted at night by animatronic robots, some of which are phantoms. The goal of the game is to not get knocked unconscious or killed by them, and we have all the latest tricks and cheats to help you survive.

Part of what makes the "Five Nights at Freddy's" video games so fun -- and terrifying -- are the jump scares. Unlike earlier games, not all the jump scares in "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" are deadly. Springtrap is the only animatronic capable of killing you directly. The other scares are hallucinations. In order to win the game, you need to keep your wits about you.

How to Avoid "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" Jump Scares

Chica, the Puppet and Balloon Boy make special appearances in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" third installment. When you are flipping through your security cameras to keep an eye on the pizzeria, you may see one of these animatronic phantoms from the previous games. If either of the three appear in your camera view, quickly switch cameras before lowering the monitor to avoid a jump scare, reports Gamezebo.

Though these are spoilers, you need to know where to expect each animatronic phantom so that you can act accordingly:

  • Chica's face will appear on the arcade machine screen
  • The Puppet face will appear in the hallway
  • Balloon Boy's face will appear in the camera

If Foxy or Freddy appear in your office, quickly raise one of the camera monitors. According to Gamezebo, you need to raise your monitor at the right time to disable Freddy and Foxy's jump scares.

If Foxy is suddenly standing in your office, turn your screen up as fast as possible.

If you spot Freddy's shadow lurking outside your office window, raise your monitor before he walks completely across.

"Five Nights at Freddy's 3" Ventilation Reboot Tips

Once you fall victim to a jump scare, the ventilation systems fail immediately. Reboot them as soon as possible -- before you black out.

If more than one system is down, select "reboot all." It takes roughly five seconds to reboot each system, but only eight seconds to fix them all at once using the "reboot all" option. Clearly, using "reboot all" is your best option if more than one system is down.

How to Access Hidden "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" Minigames

The minigames in between each night in the "Five Nights at Freddy's 3" game offer clues on how to obtain the good ending. The arcade-style minigames offer access to hidden minigames that are essential to getting the game's good ending.

Here are minigame spoilers to help you achieve the good ending:

Double-click Balloon Boy on Camera 8 to access his minigame -- watch the video below to see how.

Access Mange's minigame by going to the arcade machine on Camera 7. Click the buttons in the following sequence: upper-left, lower-left, upper-right and lower-right.

Access Chica's minigame by looking for, and clicking on, the four cupcakes on Cameras 2, 3, 4, and 6.

Here's how to access Freddy's minigame: in your security office, there are nine tiles in between Bonnie's guitar prop and the wastebasket. Think of the nine tiles as a telephone number pad, like on your smartphone, and push the tiles in this order: 3, 9, 5, 2, 4, and 8.

Access Shadow Bonnie's minigame on night five by clicking on the Shadow Bonnie doll on the far right side of your desk when it appears.
