X-Factor Demi Lovato Rehab: Annoying Juice Segment During Finale Pokes Fun at Lovato's Struggles with Alcohol [VIDEO]
At last night's X Factor on ABC there was more than a few jaw-dropping moments. Many people's favorite Paulina Rubio's "papichulo" Carlito Olivero was eliminated and Kelly Rowland's Jeff Gutt only made it to second place. Couple Alex and Sierra on Simon Cowell's team ended up winning the $1 million contract by Sony Records.
As you noticed, Demi Lovato's contestants had already been eliminated so the star was just there to honor the ending of this X Factor season. This is also Demi's last season on the show, as she has announced that she will be leaving to focus on her career and sobriety. Her sobriety, something that shines brighter than Demi herself, was what drove Demi to a very defensive moment on the show. When Mario Lopez announced a humorous clip they had put together for Demi, the Made in the USA star was not impressed at all.
The "annoying juice" referring to a green juice Demi often drank on the show, was the center of a joke claiming that this is what she drink to annoy Simon Cowell. Though Mario Lopez, host of the X Factor, meant well when he said, "Simon has been complaining all season that Demi is annoying, maybe it has something to do with what Demi has been drinking at the judge's desk," Demi took it very badly. You see, when someone who is a recovered alcoholic is questioned about "what they are drinking," it hits a soft spot. During the clip the cameras flashed to Demi's reaction: with a serious face she commented to Paulina something that didn't seem as a happy response at all.
At the end of the clip Demi took a deep breath and decided to "take it easy." "Since I don't drink anymore, I guess annoying juice has become my new drink." Demi was a good sport and decided to play along but only after emphasizing the point that there was no alcohol in this "annoying drink." Oh Demi, we know you have moved forward with your life. The X Factor should have thought this through before going forth with a "drink" joke but we know they meant well. However, we hate that we love drama on live television so this was so awkwardly entertaining to watch that you must see it too. Click below to see the clip.
