In the May 5, Season 1 finale of "Forever," Henry finally learns what became of his beloved Abigail, and the realization could leave him feeling as empty as ever.

According to GiveMeMyRemote, "The Last Death of Henry Morgan" entitled episode reveals the love of his life "killed herself to avoid leading Adam to Henry."

BroadwayWorld.com also describes the tense-filled episode as "a long, unrelenting collision that could end in one man's death." All the while, the calculating Adam uses Henry's burning desire to prevent Det. Jo Martinez from learning of his past as leverage in their never-ending battle.

The website adds ultimately "the two men tangle in a tumultuous game-changing confrontation."

ABC also reports Henry's heart-wrenching discovery about Abigail comes after he embarks on a desperate trek to find her, going as far as seeking the help of Lucas in doing so. In launching his search, not only does Henry neglect to tell Abe about his actions, he also decides not to tell all the officers assisting him of his relationship with Abigail, leaving them to assume they are simply on a mission to find Abe's mom.

Season 1's final episode also finds Henry desperately scrambling to uncover the mystery of an ancient dagger used in both Julius Caesar's assassination and Adam's first death.

"Forever" stars Ioan Gruffudd as Henry, Judd Hirsch as Abe, Alana de la Garza as Det. Jo Martinez, Lorraine Toussaint as Lt. Joanne Reece, Donnie Keshawarz as Det. Hanson and Joel David Moore as Lucas.

The ABC-aired series premiered during the 2014-2015 fall season. According to Spoiler TV, earlier this year, fans began waging an online petition campaign aimed at trying to secure a full second season of episodes.

John Noble (Aubrey Griffin), Mackenzie Mauzy (Abigail Morgan), Burn Gorman (Adam), Mike Houston (Ken) and Angel Desai (Diane Clark) all guest-star in "The Last Death of Henry Morgan.'
