Prince Liam has been spending time on his public relations tour in order to convince people that he deserves to be the next king. In the next episode of "The Royals" Liam will be forced to take over the throne way earlier than he thought, according to the episode's teaser video.

Liam and Eleanor's father, King Simon was stabbed in the last episode. He was shown in the episode staggering up the stairs of the Royal Palace, covered in blood. He will survive, but he was injured badly, and will need to take some time off.

Liam's mother Queen Helena tells Liam some news that he is not ready to hear.

"You'll officially become the acting King of England," she tells him.

"I'm not ready for this mom," Liam says.

"No one is ever ready for this," Queen Helena replies.

Queen Helena will be there to help her son as he makes the transition to king. They might start getting along better too.

Princess Eleanor is deeply affected by her father's stabbing. In the last episode, she begged the king to let her brother prove himself as worthy of being the next king of England. Even though he is not ready, now is Liam's chance to prove himself. Eleanor has always been supportive of her brother, but now she might need to fix her relationship with her mother so that they both can support him.

King Simon has been trying to abolish the monarchy and brought a bill to Parliament which he said he will sign. He said that the decision will be up to the public, but Simon urged them to vote "yes" to end his reign.

With Simon's unfortunate stabbing, the Queen and Cyrus see this as an opportunity to save the monarchy. Cyrus might have had something to do with the stabbing because he was recently told by the king that he will be stripped of all his titles and capital.

Episode 8, titled "The Great Man Down," will air Sunday on E! at 10 p.m. ET.
