Grand Theft Auto V fans have been demanding a PC version of the record breaking game since its release. According to the newest rumors, a release date for the PC game will be announced on Christmas Eve, and the game itself will be released in March in the United States and Europe.

A Reddit user contacted Amazon's U.K. customer service chat page, where a representative allegedly spilled the beans about Grand Theft Auto V for PC.

"Welcome to Amazon Chat. My name is Fatima [...]. According to our information, GTA V PC will be announced on 12/24 and according to our source; it will be released in the USA on 03/12 and here on 03/14," the Amazon representative said in German.

Meanwhile, another Reddit user contacted Amazon U.K.'s support team and got a similar, yet slightly confusing, response.

"As of now, we do not have any information regarding the PC version of GTA V," the representative said. "I can see that Rockstar is planning to release this in March of 2014. For more information we encourage you to contact Rockstar games regarding this."

Can the rumors be true? Will gamers be getting a Christmas Eve miracle?

According to DSOGaming and examiner.com, Amazon has revealed PC versions of games before their official announcements in the past. DSOGaming says that "long before" PC versions of two Mortal Kombat games were announced, Amazon leaked the information.

Rockstar Games has been festive lately. To celebrate Thanksgiving, the game developer held a Grand Theft Auto Black Friday sale. Perhaps Rockstar Games will continue their holiday spirit with a special announcement.

On the other hand, we cannot underestimate the power of Photoshop. Reddit users could have doctored these supposed conversations with Amazon representatives before uploading them, which means gamers will be getting a disappointing non-PC compatible lump of coal for Christmas instead of a release date.

In two days, Grand Theft Auto V fans will see just how generous Santa and Rockstar Games really are.
