T-Mobile Plans: Cell Phone Company Offers 14-Day Free Trial and Early Termination Fee Payoffs for Verizon Customers
T-Mobile wants Verizon customers to try their service and ultimately switch over. To do this, T-Mobile is offering a free 14-day trial run at their service, CNet reports.
On May 13, T-Mobile is beginning its "Never Settle" campaign aimed at luring customers from competitors like Verizon over to their service.
Verizon subscribers will get a chance to bring their phone number over to T-Mobile. T-Mobile will issue these customers a T-Mobile phone free for 14 days. After the trial is over, Verizon customers can return the phone if they want to stick with Verizon.
The Verizon subscribers will be refunded any fees incurred during the trial and any fees required to reactivate their Verizon service.
Those who decide to switch over to T-Mobile can trade in their Verizon phone for a T-Mobile phone. Any outstanding charges due on the Verizon phone or the Verizon service will be paid by T-Mobile, up to $650. Fees are usually charged if a customer leaves Verizon before their two-year contract is up.
T-Mobile is trying to be creative to gain more subscribers. During the first quarter of 2015, T-Mobile said it gained 1.8 million new customers, adding its total to 56.8 million, reports CNet.com. Verizon ended the quarter with 108.6 million customers. Sprint takes third place in terms of subscribers behind AT&T.
T-Mobile has challenged AT&T and Verizon by paying off early termination fees and offering service without two-year contracts. T-Mobile has even offered to pay off customers' phones for those who pay a monthly leasing fee to get them to switch over to their service.
"Last week, I said we would hit right back at Verizon -- I meant it," T-Mobile CEO John Legere said in a statement. "T-Mobile's 4G LTE network is the nation's fastest. Not faster for the price...just faster, period. With T-Mobile, you don't have to settle for trickery, gimmicks and carrier BS the way you do with Verizon."
Customers interested in the "Never Settle" 14-day trial can visit any T-Mobile store or T-Mobile's website for more information.
